I’m currently seeing someone who gives me a lot of joy but who is also alas quite married. And has been for more than two decades.

I see her perhaps once a week, but there have been much longer stretches of apartness. And I’ve noticed whenever I go out to look at paintings, I find her — probably because I’m never not looking for her in art.
